It’s such an achievement that even our friends at Caprica-City.de picked up the story and ran with it.

So say we all! Keep the faith!

by Shane in Maintenance @ 2:45 pm

For those who been trying to contact anyone of the members of the FrakMedia! team and not getting any response… rejoice! The email system was fixed. It had been disabled for quiet some time since we were not able to secure any information when we requested it off the server. (Always fearing the worst.) So send anyway and we will be able to reply!

Overall it’s been generally positive with very few negatives. :) Enjoy!

The English Battlestar Wiki’s 3000th article…? Penis lanterns ftw!

January 28, 2008 1

by Joe Beaudoin Jr. in Announcements, Battlestar Wiki @ 1:31 am

The English Battlestar Wiki has reached 3,000 articles. Ironically enough, the 3,000th article is on the penis lanternDavid Eick’s name for the decorative, metallic chrome, semi-flaccid, phallic-like lighting fixtures on Pegasus.

Our 2,999th article was a disambiguation page on those with the name Tom (including Thomas and Tommy).

In other news, the German wiki is five articles shy of 700 articles!

Sanctuary Wiki in Standby Mode

January 27, 2008 0

by Joe Beaudoin Jr. in Sanctuary Wiki @ 4:44 pm

Due to the lack of interest in Sanctuary or, more to the point, the Sanctuary Wiki, we’ve decided to place the wiki in standby mode. While the website can still be accessed, it cannot be edited. This allows us to focus on our more successful projects, including the blossoming Battlestar Pegasus.

However, if a group of dedicated fans do want to resurrect the Wiki, please contact Joe Beaudoin.

Keep the faith!

Need a webhost? Why not choose The Planet?

January 23, 2008 0

by Joe Beaudoin Jr. in Announcements @ 8:22 pm

As you can see, we’ve started adding links to The Planet on various Frak Media! websites. The Planet is the company that we rent our web servers from. They’re a wonderful data center and we highly recommend them for all your web server needs.

If you want a low cost server to meet your needs, please check them out by going here.

Coincidentally, we also recommend 1and1, which was our previous server before the Battlestar Wiki grew to Galactican proportions. Check them out by going here. They are currently having a 50% off sale on select products to celebrate their 20th anniversary as a company, so you may want to take advantage of it now!

Battlestar Wiki: Membership Raffle! One lucky winner will receive a copy of “Razor” on DVD!

December 11, 2007 0

by Joe Beaudoin Jr. in Battlestar Wiki @ 6:44 pm

From Battlestar Wiki’s blog:

As I’ve previously mentioned, I’ve been working on a Membership Raffle. The setup for this is now complete, which you can see here.

For the month of December, we are raffling off:

  • One (1) DVD copy of Battlestar Galactica: Razor ($19.99 USD value) OR a $20 USD gift certificate to the online retailer of your choosing.
  • One (1) year extension to your membership to the Battlestar Wiki and Battlestar Forum.

How this works: Basically, once you donate $10 dollars to become a paying sponsor/member, you are entered into a raffle.  Each paying member is given a unique id number, which is then drawn by using random.org’s integer randomizer, which generates a random number between 1 and whatever the total number of paying members happens to be at the time of the drawing.

On the last full week of each month, we’ll have the drawing with the top/grand prize being drawn last. To make it fair, once you win any prize, you don’t get to win for another 12 months.

Of course, if there are any questions, comments, or concerns, I would love to hear them!

So say we all!

Cappa Frakr

December 5, 2007 0

by Joe Beaudoin Jr. in Announcements, New Sites @ 1:37 am

We’re working on a new website called “Cappa Frakr”, which aims to be a repository for high-quality, DVD screencaps from various science fiction series new and old. Tentative releases include “The Prisoner”, “Farscape”, “Babylon 5″, the original “Battlestar Galactica”, “Galactica 1980″ and “Dr. Who”.

Presently, we’re in the process of adding screencaps for the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica, as you can see here.

Currently, Cappa Frakr is currently in early alpha stages of design, so there’ll be some drastic changes coming up for that site in the next week or two.
